Barbara B. King

Senior Associate Attorney

Having grown up right off the square in downtown Marietta, Barbara is a true Marietta native.  She is a 1988 Marietta High School graduate and graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1993.  After graduating from college she worked as the Assistant Chief Probation Officer at Georgia Probation Management in Cherokee County, Georgia.  While employed an opportunity to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an Attorney arose and she jumped at the chance.  With only one night program in the metro area at the time, Barbara enrolled at John Marshall Law School and continued working full time.  After graduating from law school in 1999, Barbara clerked for the Honorable A. Harris Adams for several years before taking time off to raise her three children, Madeleine Berry Malone, Emilie Grace Malone and Rosser Adams Malone, Jr.

In 2016, Barbara joined King, Yaklin & Wilkins with an emphasis on family law, which includes divorce, parenting and support issues, legitimation, and all areas that impact families.  Outside of work Barbara enjoys travelling, hiking with her goldendoodle, Chappy, a good book and enjoying a home cooked meal with her husband, Russ.  Barbara is active in both political organizations as well charitable organizations within her community.

Barbara’s legal memberships include the State Bar of Georgia, Cobb County Bar Association, The Marietta Lawyers Club and Southern Trial Lawyers Association.
